DEVELOPED ITERATIONS: LAYERING & TRANSPARENCY
PART 1

PEER INTERACTION

Response:
- It is useful looking at things like psychographic and reportage illustration, so much of those things depend on being in that place where the work or the experience is happening.
- With these examples using photography and memory as jumping off points for the illustration, is there value in that ?
- Layering and cropping and image editing devices to convey the story.
Being vary of the design, weather it is going to be frame by frame individually or are they going to be sequential ? - The images become the catalyst for the story which means the illustration comes first then the story as opposed to illustration being made form the story.
- Still need to workout how to get from these illustration to a story.
Is this a tool for others or you as an image maker to make stories - Would be useful to play with size and skewing not just opacity, layering, multiplying, lighting etc
- Maybe need to make a realistic fictional environment in this world, you’re almost world building, imagine walking through it so the annoted text then become the psycho geography
- Playfulness is of these illustrations

DEVELOPED ITERATIONS: COMBINATIONS, MERGING & SCALE
PART 2

PEER INTERACTION

Response:
- Looks like graphic novel because of the rectangular frames in one design language.
- The fact that its not fixed is interesting so that others can interpret it in whatever context.
- For instance if these were for a political topic and people could move around these panels and decide the narrative that happens.
- Element of people building there own version is cool.
- Its interesting how it looks like a map in a video game, its interesting how they all look connected to each other but they are all still different
- This movable illustrative system is very interesting since usually illustrations are in a fixed format so it holds you down.
- Can make sliding puzzle tiles or visual cards for people to make comic stories out of.
- Its a great tool for world building.
- A continuous story making game for adults, could be therapeutic and/or meditative.
- Illustration being fixed but the use of style brings everything together, once you put those rules in place, suddenly its so flexible, even though it doesn’t look flexible because of the uniformity of it.
- Risograph would be useful.
